Help needed with Holy Sheep bottoms pattern

I am making pants and I am at the point where I have one leg made and I'm about to start the second leg. I am supposed to slip 5 stitches and then repeat what I did for the first leg. Know what I'm talking about if you have the pattern? Anyway, do I include the 5 slip stitches in the stitches for the lenght of the leg or do I just let them sit on the needle? Are those stitches supposed to be part of the crotch?

Help would be so great here. I'm ready to show these off!!

They're the crotch. You sew them together later. The rest of the sts are the ones you use for the other leg. Make sense?

Yup, that makes sense but I am supposed to use 55 stitches for the leg. Besides those 5 stitches, there are about 15 other stitches that won't be included in the leg also. Are those for the crotch as well?

There should be five on each side and then you should have the same number for each leg (as in equal number for each leg). So you have 55 leg sts, 5 crotch sts, 55 leg sts, and 5 crotch sts. If you have more and you've already done the other leg, I'd just distribute them evenly on each side of the crotch so the legs are even at least. Check your math and make sure you counted the correct number of sts for the first leg. That may be where your problem is.
