DD hitting HERSELF??!!

Okay, this one has really got me puzzled and I need your help...We are going through the whole hitting thing around here and dd is starting to "get" that she can't hit dh and I and the dog, etc. Not to say that she never does but it is usually in a fit of frustration or I see her really hesitate with her hand raised and I can ward it off. Whenever she does hit us we tell her "no hitting, hitting hurts, gentle touches" etc. Now when we tell her these things she hits herself! This has been very difficult to correct because I can't remove her from herself!! And she is really hitting herself hard across the face. She also does this when she is really frustrated by something, she takes it out on herself. This really bothers me - help me!!

my dd hits herself also in the face. she will also scratch herself. i figure that she is hurting herself so hopefully she will stop soon!

no advice here but know that you are not alone! i hope you figure soemthing out!

My daughter does this too. It breaks my heart and I have no clue what to do to get her to stop.

Ds does this sometimes, too. He seems to be growing out of it, but every so often he does it. I haven't even been able to figure out what the trigger is, it happens so rarely now. I think he does it when he's frustated. When he was about 1 he used to bang his head on things, but he stopped doing that and started hitting himself.
