Irritating Olympic Commentating and other complaints - Page 2

I keep my homepage on my local newspaper's Web site and two days in a row I have walked in, seen who won gold on the screen and the competition hasn't even aired yet. I much prefer to see it happen, not know in advance who will win. That drives me crazy!!!! I need to change my homepage while the Olympics is on.

I wasn't recognizing her either, I couldn't figure out what was different about her. I finally figured it out- she's had a nose job. That is why she looked so different. I wouldn't have recognized her if they hadn't said it was her.

A nose job! You're right. Now, if she'd been from Romania or Russia, the commentators would have made a snide comment about it!

I recall seeing a snippet of the Iraqis playing soccer.

I've only watched on small segment, of swimming, and happened to see a Brit beat Michael Phelps in the freestyle heats.

But the camera scanned onto Micheal Phelps immediately, and the commentators starting talking about what an excellent swim he'd had blah blah blah. And we saw a repeat of him in slow motion, and heard what a great job he'd done.

Ummm, someone beat him. He didnt win.

But they didnt' seem to notice or care.

prelims don't mean squat in swimming unless you don't qualify to go on. It doesn't matter who "wins" a prelim. You sure don't get a metal for it.

Anyway my vote for most annoying commentator has to be Bob Costas, especially at the opening ceremonies. Not only was he totally rude about the Greeks getting the games he was so USA centric and going on and on about how grateful he was when they would go back to speaking english. He is an embarrasment and shouldn't participate in games that are INTERNATIONAL!

Ugh. I'll vote for Al Trautwig as Most Annoying Commentator. He says the same dumb thing over and over and over and over like he's surprised to hear it everytime. And he says things like "It's a funnel of drama out there." What the heck does that mean?

Another annoyance: During prime time yesterday, they showed a segment highlighting the the three medaling cyclists in the men's time trial. After announcing who won, Bob Costas said "catch the full coverage later tonight on MSNBC." Well, it's gonna be a pretty boring time trial SINCE I ALREADY KNOW WHO THE THREE WINNERS ARE. Thanks, Bob. You saved me two hours of missed sleep.
