Today is the first official day I spent hugging the toliet. The last few days I've had morning, noon and night sickness, just real bad nausea. But today it hit for real. I remember with dd I would throw up a few times in the morning and then go to work, this time I feel like I'm struggling through the day, I guess every pregnancy is different, huh? What do you ladies do with your babies/toddlers when your sick all morning?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Ack! You're scaring me. You're about a week ahead of me and I just know I'm going to be in your shoes next week. Have you tried the standard remedies? Extra vitamin B and zinc and what-not? 2-3 T. of apple cider vinegar in warm water first thing in the morning is supposed to help neutralize your stomach acid. And ginger supposedly helps... I've been researching all the remedies a bit compulsively because I'm not sure how to handle it this time around. Last time I was in school and had a lot of flexibility. Now, I have a toddler *and* I'm a lawyer and my office isn't going to be thrilled to pieces to have me puking in the bathroom. Eek! If anyone else has some good management tips, I'd love to hear them too.
You certainly have my sympathy!

hi. i've just had the nausea. but i have two friends with bad morning sickness. with one of them it's so severe that her mom who was visiting from singapore stayed to help with her toddler. she can't get out of bed or even watch someone walk across the room w/o puking. they've tried every natural rememdy there is. and for a cultural reason i don't know much about she won't take the meds her doc gave her.
so, no advice, but lots of sympathy.

I'm right there with you!
My 2 1/2 year old sits beside me and rubs my back LOL ... I'm totally useless when I'm sick this time. Last time was the same as you ...puke in the am ...go on with my day. This time it's sporadic ...creeps out of nowhere in the middle of the day ...and knocks me completely out of it. UGH!!

I just started hugging the porcelin god this week...My 15mo ds also stands next to me, rubbing my shoulder, saying mama in a concerned tone. I just reassure him (in between my gut wrenching prayers) that mama's ok, that I'm just feeling sick and that I'll feel better soon. He's so cute...sometimes he'll peer down into the bowl to see it, & look back up at me curiously. Luckily there's been no attempts to touch it yet! lol
Acouple things that work for me are: spicy or tangy foods (I've had no heartburn...), always having minty gum in hand for those unexpected waves of nausea, and eating small meals frequently (empty tummy = nausea before, during and after eating)
Curiously, bland foods and ginger has never worked for me...Good luck finding your magic potion combination!!!

I just have the nausea so far, no puking. I never threw up with dd, just had all day nausea until 13 weeks. I'm 7 weeks now & it's getting more intense every day (i'm very queasy right now). For me it's not the worst 1st thing in the morning. Starts around 10am & comes & goes all day. blech. BUT, as I say, I'm happily queasy, LOL. Happy to be pregnant!

I am starting to get nauseous at all kinds of weird smells. I don't throw up, though, I get diarrhea. Blech.
