I saw this beautiful felted merino yarn, but I'm not sure if it would work for soakers. Would it? I'm not a big fan of merino yarn either. I like how soft it is, but it does not seem to have any body to it.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I just got five beautiful skiens of that stuff in navy and I'm in love! I'm going to make a sweater from it, but I can't see why not make a soaker. Did you see it at http://www.elann.com ? If not, check them out, it's on sale.

I have some, and it is super duper soft and silky feeling-but it doesn't have as much give as the natural variety-I am sure it would work as far as waterproof capabilities-but not as sure it would work to be a nice stretchy soaker KWIM. It really is soft though.....

It's so funny that you think that. I was just having dh feel the sweater I'm knitting out of it because it is sooo stretchy. I wonder if mine is a different lot or something. I'm just loving knitting with it. It's just buttery! And because it's felted, it doesn't split at all like most single and multi-ply yarns do. One funny, and a little worrisome, thing though -- it breaks very easily. I don't think it'll be a problem in the finished product, but I hope it doesn't stick if I have to pull some out, kwim? It might be that b/c it's felted it won't. Anyway, I am just loving it.
