YO/Yarn Over?

I don't quite get what I am supposed to be doing here...the whole yarn over thing....if it helps, I'm working on the LTK soaker.

I believe on the LTK soaker you are Knitting, as oppossed to purling, when doing the YO.

To do a YO,
bring the yarn between the needles to the front, like you would if you were going to purl. then bring the yarn over the right needle to the back so that you can knit the next stitch. This causes an extra pass of the yarn over your needle. Your YO is complete.

Hope this helped. Somebody else might be able to explain this more clearly.

Ok, so I k2tog, then I bring the yarn to the front, wrap it around, and start the next k2tog? Or does the wrap around get stitched in somewhere??

pumpkin, thanks! i haven't had to do this yet, but was watching an online video and all they showed was bringing it between the needles. i couldn't figure out how they expected it to make a stitch that way!

When you knit the next row, after the row where you do the yarn overs, then you will knit the loops that you made by doing the yarn overs. This will leave you with a row of holes. Not having done this pattern yet, I can only guess that they are probably for a drawstring? Sometimes you do this for buttonholes too (although there are better ways to do buttonholes) or for decoration (like at the edge of dishcloths).
