?? Ideas for using new yarns

So I am seeing all of these fancy yarns (acrylic, but cool looking anyway) and wonder if there are patterns or just sites with pics to give me an idea of how to use them. The books and patterns I have are pretty outdated in terms of the pictures they include. How do you use eyelash yarn in a scarf? I imagine I could start practicing and come up with some good ideas, but I would love to have some inspiration. Any ideas? TIA

Knit with big needles (say 10 or 12 mm), maybe 30 stitches across? Eyelash yarns make lovely scarves. In fact, the bernat ones come with neat free scarf patterns. I've also made shawls with some of the new yarns too--the ones that look like two pieces of string with ribbon between them. Again, very big needles, and just start with three stitches and increase at the beginning of every row, get a big triangle. Not a shawl for warmth, but makes a nice wrap when you're getting all dressed up. Quick and looks way more difficult done than it really was (makes good gifts too!)
