Best fabric for jazzin' up prefolds?

I am clueless when it comes to different kinds of fabric. But I want to jazz my prefolds up a bit (seeing as that is all we use) and it looks pretty simple to add some fabric down the middle.

So what is the best kind? One that won't fade or look crummy with all those washes. And I have to be able to get it online (like Ebay or something) because we live overseas.

Okay I'm just going by how my fitteds have held up. I think knit and wovens are fine. PRR (you can get on ebay) are great fabrics. Knit stretches better of course but there's nothing wrong w/wovens. I wouldn't use flannel b/c of the pill factor. Basically, anything will do but if you buy cheapie stuff it's probably going to fade faster. There's really no good way to tell ime but everything I've washed up has been fine. OH! Darker fabrics are just going to show wear more.
