My head is killing me!

Ouch... I have a bad migrane (sp) it came on slow all day yesterday and then last night I threw up everything I had ate all day including salsa- OUCH! And it kept comming up all night. So at 4 a.m. I got up to get DD a new diaper and my head was still throbing so I took 2 tylenol thinking it would kick the headache by today but so such luck. And I am hungry but the thought of pucking again has kept me away from eatting. Any ideas on what I can do??? I hate taking Tylenol, but I am really no good for Rainey unless I can think.

First, make sure you are drinking enough water. I also get bad migraines, and when it is super bad, I take 3 Tylenol and drink a cup of brewed coffee. Its not the best thing, but it works for me. I only do that if its really, really bad, and I mean non-functioning bad. Otherwise, I suffer Good luck, I know how you feel!

ITA w/the tylenol and coffee - or even a hot black tea.. caffeine is often one of the main ingredients in migraine meds because it boosts the action of tylenol, motrin and advil

Semi-OT but .. Last time I threw up salsa I got a chunk of a pepper stuck in my nose. (Yeah it was a pretty forceful barf)

My DD has recurrent migranes that sound exactly like yours. You need to eliminate the triggers. For DD, it's dehydration, lack of sleep, and hunger (for example, if we have a late meal). Could be a food allergy, but when PG you do need more fluids. Could be hormone related too.

OH, and DD takes a cold shower, it really helps. My SIL, a massage therapist, says migranes are congestion in the head. If you soak your feet in cold water, blood will rush to your feet to warm them up and decrease the pressure in the head. HTH.

It was so weird, but I had heard that points in your body will take away pain, and last night DP was rubbing my ankles and the pain went away- not the pressure, but the sharp pain. I wish I could tie his hands to my ankels! I have an energy drink in the fridge right now- it has no carbs and no sugar- just lots of B12 so, it is pretty good for you anyway- I am going to take it with tylenol and lots of water and see if that kicks it!

There's also a spot that my husband can pinch between my neck and shoulder that totally takes the pain away (while he's doing it....). It's like he takes the whole muscle right next to my neck between his thumb and forefinger and pinches HARD. It feels Sooooo good when I have any kind of headache, especially a migraine.

Some of my triggers are alcohol, chipotle peppers (because they're smoked, although I can eat smoked cheeses and smoked meats-go figure), and caffeine.

I'll have to try the feet in cold water next time. It sounds like a great idea.

I hope you're finding some relief!

PS-I'm also in the Seattle area-maybe it has something to do with this sudden rain we've gotten, after this horrible dry spell....I know that I started feeling awful as soon as it came on!

You bet! Pressure changes do take a toll on the body. My fibro sometimes flares up with pressure changes.

I use ice packs (neck and forehead) and try and keep on top of my triggers. I'm bad with barometric changes but not much I can do about those. My other trigger is tension headaches, so I use pressure point and massage therapy to prevent those from turning into migraines. Ice packs are my saviour though once i have one.

I forgot to add that DD's migraines are also triggered by heat. I actually think they started up when she was three and got sunstroke. Now summers are difficult for her and she has less occurrences in the winter.

It must be the weather- because it is rainning out today and the headache is still going strong. And it started when the weather changed on me. I grew up here in WA and always had bad headaches and migraines and then when I was 19 I moved to Michigan and I never had headaches (maybe 3 in 5 years) the weather is different there- even if we get a lot of snow it is not high low barometric changes. Then when I moved back here a year ago the headaches started again. I am planning on moving back to Michigan in Nov- so maybe I will see peace then! lol...

That's so funny! I'm the exact opposite....I grew up on the east coast, and have had headaches since the age of 7 or 8...the migraines only started in college, but my headaches went away, for the most part, once I moved to Seattle 3 years ago!

To be fair, though, I attribute this more to my increased awareness of the causes of my headaches, and a decrease in stress.

See I have a huge increase in stress here v's Michigan- lol... That could be the reason for the headaches too. I really just feel over all yucky- not only does my head kill me but I feel pucky on top of it so it is like a nasty flu and a headache- I called my mom to tell her and she said "Ang, I know what is wrong- you are pregnant!" lol... I am a pig when I am sick too- like most people stop eatting, me I scarf everything I can see- but the last few days, nothing sounds good and when I start to eat I stop- I am sure it will get better soon! I pray!
