Who's Nesting??

Anyone else nesting like crazy. I've been going nonstop all day getting the house clean. This is totally unlike me. I haven't had this amount of energy in I don't know how long. I kept thinking I would stop and rest, but then something else would catch my eye and I'd start up again. I hope this means the baby is coming soon.

Happy nesting!

I remember my nesting faze! I insisted that my husband finish the new carpet in the baby's room 6 weeks before I was due. He stayed up untill nearly 1:00 in the morning, he gets up at 3:30 in the morning to go to work! He says their was no reasoning with me! I believe it, thats the nature of nesting!

Does baby proofing count? I'm obsessed with baby proofing.

I had an uncontrollable need to wash the back door yesterday.

Today it was necessary for me to dust the miniblinds on the front door window.

And I've been vacuuming pretty obsessively.

But mostly I think I do these things because I always feel like I accomplished something worthwhile after I've done them!!

Wow, I don't think I've thought to wash the back door.

I need to seriously vacuum the floor, we had a small popcorn incident on the floor and it's a little 'crunchy' at the moment.

I scrubbed the wheel of the can opener for 15 minutes yesterday... :

Awesome, Stacy, that makes me feel a lot less silly for scrubbing the kitchen door but it's painted white and was really grungy! It needed it!

Besides, those can opener wheels can get really gross and nasty.

I will know when I am nesting when I actually start cleaning. I hate to clean and try to avoid it other than the kitchen. Grant does most of the cleaning.

Does painting woodwork and doors count? I can't STAND them any longer (painted with flat white paint), so I know I'm getting closer to having this baby. I cleaned almost all my baseboards last night in prep for this. I got nuts like this in the week before I had Jack. Oh well, its lots of hands and knees time. Turn, baby, turn!

I have SO nested. I am caught up with laundry (with three kids this is a miracle in itself) and within the past week all of the floors have been washed, I washed doors, I washed lightswitch covers, I scoured the stove like it has NEVER been scoured since we moved here.

Of course, the house still looks a mess... with three kids, fuggedaboutit.

Haha...I did this last Friday. Painted all the trim upstairs, then cleaned the entire house...I went into labor on Sunday...

They were all grungy, with dirty finger smudges all over them!

I've done the back door, the can opener and the lightswitches

I don't think I'm fully nesting though, because even though I have done the above, theres about a ton of washing up in the sink, and loads of laundry to do. I think I'm procrastinating really, and doing little things so i don't have to do the big things IYSWIM

I haven't been nesting in the cleaning sense, though last night I felt more of an urge to have things in order. I'm hoping to keep that around for awhile, the house could use it!

My problem is with impulse buying. Last pregnancy, I came home with $500 worth of new pots and pans because there was no way I could cook food for our baby in the nasty 50-year-old second-hand aluminum pans that we had. I know it was an absolute crazy justification for it, but I have to admit that I haven't regretted it. I've been much better behaved this time around, but I do have a pile of returns waiting at the door. Maybe dh should take care of that so I don't come back home with more stuff! So far, I've been good about not shopping online, but boy would a fleece pouch be nice for a Sept baby, not to mention another cloth diaper or two!

Well, the nesting in our house has hit.
Dh redid the groute in the tub, it was gross. Now he is scrubbing the tub.
I totally cleaned the other bathroom, including the baseboards.
And moped the kitchen and bathrooms.
Tomorrow I work on the rest of the house, ours is hardwood floors. So the whole house needs to be moped.
Ah so much to do. Baby stuff is pretty much set and house is picked up. Dishes are done, laundry done.
Just want to do deep cleaning.
Its crazy, once I get started its hard to stop. I'm not usually like that. I like the clean house though. But my back is killing me now.

Well, my nesting bug is gone. I'm as exhausted as ever now. At least I had that burst of energy for a while that let me get things done that wouldn't have gotten done otherwise. No baby yet. But at least the house is mostly in order for when he decides to be born. I get stressed when the house is in disarray, so I'm glad I had that day or so of obsessive cleaning and organizing.
