Traveling with Mama Cloth: Dry bag?

Hey, all. I'm getting ready to take a trip for a week and will probably have AF with me for the whole or at least part of it. We'll be doing some hiking, lots of walking and biking and sposies are so irritating. I could go for about 3 days before running out of cloth so I'm thinking I might like to use cloth as much as I can, but I always soak my pads and I'm a bit hesitant about a dry bag (won't it smell?). I'm hoping some of you have ideas. I love my cloth and I don't want to change. And I know some of you mamas have travelled with cloth diapers. Cloth pads have got to be easier!

I usually use my keeper during the day, but occasionally use mama pads. I do the same thing I do with cloth diapers... put them in plastic (from the store) bags, twist closed. I've never had a huge problem with smell, even with poopy diapers being left in a warm vehicle over the weekend during the summer.

I know there are more sophisticated ways to store used CDs and pads, but the easy way works for me.

If you're worried about leakage, a ziploc bag (gallon size) with zipper would work well for pads. i know, not the most eco-friendly, but I use and reuse my bags until they get holes in them.

I got my pads from Lunapads. They came in a lil vinyl zippered pouch. I use that, and it works great. I used it for a whole week once. But if I didn't have that, I'd make a lil drawstring pouch out of PUL for myself.

I've camped with dd in cloth, and we used ziplock bags. Not the best option, but there was NO smell (until you opened the bag, that is). Could you try a wet bag made of PUL?

When we travel, I use ziplocs. I also work in a VERY corporate environment and find ziplocs contain the smell, especially if you put a small amount of baking soda in the bag.
