Anyone have any experience with Eco-bags?

I want to buy cloth grocery bags.

Do the Eco-bags stand up? And how are they in general. For $5 a bag, the price is right.

Ooo, I don't know. I have tons of them but none of them stand up.

I bought some from gaiam - it's a set of five. Four of them can be rolled up & stuffed in to pockets on the inside of the fifth bag. They used to stand up, but have been through a lot so they're not as stiff.

They also have some nice ones at Trader Joe's if you have one near you, but I don't know if they stand up.

HTH.

you can buy plain canvas bags from Michael's or JoAnne Fabrics.

Reusable Bags has lots...the Earth Tote looks like the base is really wide, but it might be really flimsy?? I just have the string bags and the black totes.

I got most of mine at thrift stores. I was really surprised to see how many canvas bags there were. And they were only a $1 each!

It never crossed my mind to check out the thrift store. I got mine from dharmatrading.com

My favorite is the only one that stands up by itself- from Altrec.com. I use it for everything- it was expensive between 8-9. It's the shape of a paper grocery bag, but slightly bigger. My three year old keeps taking it for toys because he can load it while it's standing upright. Trader Joe's has some for 1.99, but they are new and I've never pulled one off the rack to check out the construction.
