Happy birthday Eliza!!!

The plane trip went well both directions, other then typical annoying bickering between my two oldest...hehe..Josie did pretty well...there were spots where she cried and I knew her ears were hurting her but we nursed and tried to keep her distracted.

happy late birthday, eliza and scout!

i remember last year at this time, waiting to give birth, and so excited about those of you who already had.

question: this past few days, izzy has only napped if i'm holding her. i cannot put her down. at all. also, at night, she is nursing constantly. anyone else? why the change? (i like to think that someone out there magically has all the answers, lol).

I dont' know what to tell you. Josie nurses a lot too and she doesn't like to sleep either..some of that may be my coffee consumption in the morning....

I have sick kids...grrr....gotta go.

DS is going thru the same thing.
I think it's teething for us.
Our Ds still naps on us so I'm no a good judge on that

mamalay,
our little ladies are just a few days apart and every time you post something, i think, "us too!". i think it is definitely part of the teething, new skills, stuff that we always read about.

for about a month now, sophia only cat naps 20 min or so. she is like the energizer bunny that never ever drops. last night, she was literally, running laps up and down our hallway, bringing her stuffed polar bear "dee dee" to dh and i. she worked herself in a frenzy! got all sweaty and just kept going. i was exhausted just watching.

has anyone had sort of an anticlimactic first bday for these babes? i'm actually a littel embarrased to say we have nothing planned. and we have no idea what to get her! dh and i always seem to be broke at bday and christmas time, so often don't exchange gifts. we' don't really like this and don't want to do this to our kids, but don't want to get her something silly, like an outfit that she doesn't need. you know? speaking of outfits...dd STILL fits into much of her 3-6 month clothing! i can't figure it out. she is so chunky! super short though.

thanks mamas...glad to know she's not the only one glittergal, be THANKFUL that you haven't planned anything. Ours has gotten out of control, with all of her grandparents coming to town, including my divorced parents, and a party with lots of friends and stuff. which means i have to provide food, etc. i mean, it will be fun, but in all honesty we would have had a great time making a cake and telling stories about the day she was born.

G's was pretty low key. I didn't want to do one at all but my mother insisted he needed a party, even if it was small. I ended up making a cake and taking it to her house. My inlaws drove in and both sets of our parents provided food for the Bar-b-que we had. It was nice and fairly low stress - I didn't even have to clean my house.

We like small parties, which is good because a big one would be to over-whelming for ds1. We always have them at the IL's and my parents come too. Between our parents dinner is made for us and I just do cake. No other kids (just cousins, how many depends who may be visiting). It has worked really well, though we are thinking from now on we will do 2, one with JUST us and the one at the IL's a few days later. That way there won't be too many gifts and stuff either. Low key is best for us, especially for ds1 who gets anxious when there is too much activity.
