Product name: NEW NATIVE BABY CARRIER

Brief description of product: A sling that's easy to use,
comfortable to wear and saves space!

Store/Site of purchase: hipgypsy.com and new native (bought one for my husband too

Price: $40 (the extra soft organic material may be a bit more)

How long have you used this product? Over 2 years

Fit/Sizing: Fits really well, used the same one for 2 years
since 2 months after I gave birth and still had a belly to now.
THey have everything from xsmall to xxxlarge and are VERY nice and helpful with which size to choose. Feel free to ask!

Performance: Easy to use--and to breastfeed in public whether you have a newborn infant or an older babe/toddler.
There are several ways to use it, esp once the baby's four to five months old and you can go on the hip. Great for getting coffee, carrying groceries, taking long walks, doing the laundry, taking naps...whatever it be! Takes up very little space, just folds up easily. They make doll size slings for little girls--we got my 2 yr old one for her bday and she loves it.
I think New Native's great and very comfortable!!

Workmomship: Well-made, couldn't have done better.

Customer Service/Communication: Helpful, professional.

Would you purchase this product again? Oh yeah. I buy it for
friends and family and recommend it all the time when women stop us in the street!!

Have you made a complaint to the WAHMabout the product? bIf yes, please provide details of any resolution or lack thereof NO

Additional Comments: Go for it!!

Additional Comments: This was one of my first slings and I had the hardest time using it. I coudln't nurse in it. I had a hard time getting my infant son (at the time of use) in and out of it. The directions weren't very helpful even though I watched the video online a lot. It wasn't very comfortable for me either. I feel there is a better choices for a pouch style sling.

I give it (How many thumbs up out of five?):

Store/Site of purchase: ebay

Price: around $36

How long have you used this product? one month

Fit/Sizing: L

Performance: Generally very good. Two benefits that I've found are that I can use it sitting at the desk with hands free to work on the computer, and it feels safe even when I bend over to pick something off the floor, I don't feel like the baby is going to fall out! It was a bit tricky at first to get him in, but now I've got the hang of it.

Workmomship: Good

Customer Service/Communication:good

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? no

Additional Comments: This is the only sling I have (I've also got a front carrier) so I don't have much to compare to. The only issue I have is that for extended wear while walking or standing, it puts a bit of strain on my shoulder and whatever side of the upper back it is on. So, if I'm hiking or doing a long shopping trip, I'll go with the front carrier.

How long have you used this product? tried and returned

Fit/Sizing: The problem I found with this pouch was that the differential between the rails and curved "seat" was too great. To get the rails short enough for the baby not to hang below my waist, they had to be too snug. If I got it large enough to be comfortable, the baby would hand too low. This also makes it less comfortable for the baby/toddler in a hip carry. It tends to dig into the legs.

Performance: Not great. I think there are better pouch designs with a better fit.

Workmomship: Good

Additional Comments: All pouches are not created equal! Small differences in measurement and design can make a huge difference.

I give it 4 thumbs up...it was tricky to use at first (when dd was tiny), but now that he is two months, he likes to sleep cradled in it or ride front facing. I love that I can roll it up in my diaper bag.

I love that I can roll it up in my diaper bag. I basically use it when we are out and about and she needs some mommy time. Now that she is bigger (9 mo. 16lbs) I'm finding the hip carry really difficult. She squirms around...it just doesn't seem to hold her in close enough.

How long have you used this product? 9 months

Fit/Sizing: I took Medium.

Performance: Excellent, my dd is a preemie and I started using it when she was around 5 lbs and still using it at 16 lbs.

Workmomship: Very sturdy -- it's been through washer and dryer several times using seventh generation and warm/cold

Customer Service/Communication: N/A

Would you purchase this product again? yes and I have!

Have you made a complaint to the WAHM about the product? no

Additional Comments: When Maggie was more newborn size, she would be all cuddled up in the sling part. It was great for being out in public w a premature infant. People wouldnt come up to here and touch her. As she grows, she is more sitting up and on the side and can view the world or nap soundly. I have gotten stopped at least once a week since I started using this for where I got it etc, one mama even tried it out!!

Product name: NEW NATIVE BABY CARRIER

Price: I received this sling as a hand-me-down.

How long have you used this product? 4 months (plus periodically to hold the babies whose mom passed it down to me)

Fit/Sizing: We use a small. I'm right between the XS and S sizes, and DH is between S and M. The S fits us both fine (though differently).

Performance: What I like:
Very easy first sling. Great for a newborn/baby. A great way to start with baby wearing.

Easy to slip baby into (so when she falls asleep at the boob I can put the sling on and slide her in without waking her).

Very easy to nurse in. DD NIPs in it all the time. People rarely even notice. I can nurse her hands free while walking around (though that can sometimes get pretty draining for me).

Folds up very small, it's easy to keep in diaper bag.

As DH and I are lucky enough to both fit in the same size, we can pass her back and forth still in the sling (just lift over the head of the one wearing it and place over the head of the one getting her). The mom who gave it to me did this all the time too.

What I don't like:

DD likes to kick her legs. She'll mostly only ride in this sling when she's asleep or nursing. If she wakes up in it (unless we're out and about in unfamiliar surroundings) she immediately demands to get out.

It puts a pressure point on your shoulder even when the fabric is very well spread out.

It's hard to do chores in it. Bending over (to rotate laundry, pick up toys, etc) pulls her away from my body. Not that she falls out, but lots of things are harder to do in the sling than in a wrap.

Workmomship: Well-made. Mine's been in very regular (nearly daily) use for 4.5 years. It's still in very good shape.

Would you purchase this product again? Yes. People stop me all the time to ask about it. I would buy it for me or someone else.
