Flue Shot?

My dd 8 has asthma that at one time cause her a lot of problems. She was on Singular for a few years with no asthma attacks, in Jan I decided to take her off since she was doing so well. I took her of and watched her closely just incase, she did very well and has not had a single asthma attack since here and there she has weezed some but not enough to worry her asthma is excersise induced so I just have her quit running for a minute. Well anyway my question is the doctor has always recommended she get a flu shot and I always just went and did it but now I'm not so sure. I've been told the flu shot only fights 2-3 types of flu and there are 10 or more now. So I have decided that it is not needed but dh is wondering are there any negatives to getting one, his theroy is if it will help even a little then get it. My theroy is since I homeschool and we are at home 99% of the time her chances of getting it are so slim that why put her and her body through it. So what I really need toknow is that are there any danger, drawbacks, ect........

Thanks
Jennifer

the way they make flu shots is they guess which ones strains to put in the shot, they have missed the mark multiple times,

and also

you might want to know what is in them before making the decision.

I would not do the flu shot even if my kid was in public school.
It's a big scare to make $$$$
very few folks get the real flu - most get a really bad cold.
