so disappointed.....

I was chatting w/ a friend today and she mentioned that w/ her next babe she won't even try to breastfeed. She just can't see herself being always attached and that bottles worked well for her son so that's what she's sticking too.

I was disappointed, she's always been supportive of me nursing my babe and for a while I thought she was wanting to try when she has another. I guess I have some work to do..........

That is hard.

How old is her current DC?

Opinions change a lot, and I would just give her some space for now (unless she is 8.5 months pg, lol).

Her son is 20 months, so she just recently put away all the bottles, how quickly she forgot what a pain in the butt preparing and cleaning they were.

If I think that someone has definitely decided that they are not going to breastfeed at all, that's when I give them this article:

http://www.breastfeedingresources.net/article.htm

It's a compromise, because it focuses on the benefits of breastfeeding for ANY length of time, even if it's just for a DAY.

So that's why I don't pull this out until I'm convinced that they're not going to breastfeed at ALL otherwise. I figure any amount of breastfeeding is better than nothing.
