I'd really like to make myself a silk pocket sling and I was wondering if anyone could recommend what to use and where to buy it. Thanks for any suggestions!!

A heavier charmuese(silk satin) 19mm or so would be nice. Or maybe a crepe or Crepe de chine. At heavier weights like 199mm or more they are more subsatantial and might work better for a sling. Go to Dharma and check out the list of silk fabrics they have. You could also order some sample from them to get a feel of the fabrics.

I've been making my slings out of double layers of light-weight cotton (like quilters cotton)...I'd like to continue making them reversible so I don't want anything too heavy, but it needs to be substantial enough that the seam will hold the weight of my babe. I've seen ring slings made out of dupioni, but it looks too think to double. Thanks for the link!!

I was going to suggest doupioni but thought that might be too nubby. A 16.5 or 19 mm charmeuse might not be to bad doubled.
Thaisilks aka Exotic silks will have a wider range of selection though dharma's site gives a better description of the products.
