My nipple is a developmental tool...and other reasons I love BFing

LOL. My ds is perfecting his pincher technique on my nipple. After he gets his tummy filled he uses he little forefinger and thumb to try to pinch. It's really cute (ask me again if it's cute when he starts twiddling - lol).
And another reason I bfing is the little baby bird mouth. Is that not just the cutest. When their face get close to you breast and their mouth is wiiiiiide open.
And that happy look he gets on his face when the boobies come out.
oh, and while I nurse him he likes to hold and play with my hands.
I could go on of course, but these came to mind at our last nursing session and I wanted to share with mama's who understand

Hehehe. Just wanted to say I agree!
I remember reading in "What to expect, the first year" and saw that babies her age (this was a few months back) should be able to pinch things between their thumb and forefinger, and I was a little bummed she couldn't do that. Later that day, I watched her as she nursed and realized that she COULD do it, she had been doing it to my other nipple all along!
As for the happy look when the boobies come out, sometimes when she's getting into something she shouldn't be getting into and "No" or "Eva, come here" doesn't get her away from whatever havoc she's wreaking, all I have to do is flash her, and she comes crawling full force!

What a great thread!
dd has started this recently (ouch) but its so cute I always let her for a bit at least (until she starts squirting milk anyway )
Rach - what a great idea, I need to try that sometime, she gets soo delighted to see the boobies that I have to go into the next room to change if I'm in a rush. [I put her to play in the crib (the only use it gets ) when I do stuff in the room and she to stand in the crib and nurse, its a big game.]

Here's what you have to look forward to...

when she learns to talk.

DD started saying Nurse a few weeks ago--and for the first few days it was "nuss, nuss" every time I sat down! :LOL She's calmed down a bit now, but the other day when I got home from work she directed me to the couch as usual, waited impatiently as I removed the bra, then happily dove in. After about 3-4 min., she suddenly stopped, looked up at me, said "Happy!", then went back to the task at hand.

I still remember, though, when she was around 3 months old and would realize I was getting ready to nurse--she'd get all excited, start waving her arms & legs around, then start opening & closing her mouth like a very cute little guppy...

awwwww, that brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful. It's a shame that so many ppl have the "when they can ask for it, they're too old" idea in their head.

So sweet!

Yesterday ds decided during nursing to sing the alphabet song, but without letting go any more than necessary: "A,b,c,.... e,mmmmffff, hmmm hmmm hmmm, j k l, o...p..."
Dh and I just looked at each other and laughed. They are too cute.
