Walking through Whole Foods today

Whenever I go grocery shopping I put my 14.5 mo. ds in the shopping cart. He sits there anywhere from 3-5 minutes before he's crying to get out. Then for some reason, every time, he needs to nurse for a minute. Then he wants to get down and play...he's still a crawler and destruct-o-baby so that last part's not allowed, lol. Anyhow, the 3 minutes went by and Kaiden wanted up so I picked him up and started to nurse him when a beautiful mama with 3 gorgeous kids walked by and said "that's so good for him!" We proceeded to have a conversation about how she was still nursing her 2.5 year old and planned to keep going until he was 4. It took me by suprise, but it really made my day to have someone stop me to tell me how great it was that I was nursing my baby and to hear that she was still nursing hers as well! Yay for that mommy!

Hey was that me you saw in the store? :LOL (3 kids, whole foods, commenting on your nursing...could've been me).

That really is so nice to get support and encouragement like that.

Do you have a sling? That way you can shop while you nurse. Just a thought.

Thats great! I often wonder if any MDC mama's bump into each other IRL and not even know that they "know" each other online!

Nope, I have never been able to get the hang of the sling. I found one that I liked but couldn't nurse in it. I bring my kids with me though and just make my dd push the cart and grab anything I can't pick up myself, lol.

Hey, we have a destruct-o-baby too! Or a roving agent of chaos as we also refer to her.

Yep, I wish we had some way to recognize each other! Boy would we have TONS to chat about then! :LOL

I love it when nursing moms stop to say a friendly word. It just makes your day, doesn't it, to feel like there's really someone else out there who truly gets it.

Yay for positive NIP comments, and a HUGE yay for you multi-tasking Mamas!! I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time - the nursing in motion thing is so impressive to me!!

I love that. Sometimes I feel like a dork saying "good for you" to other mamas NIP when out and about, but I always try to at least make eye contact and smile. I was once eating with my family and a man walked by me and said "it's so great to see a mom giving her baby the best that there is". It really made my day!
