Looking for "hip" infant fleece pants pattern

Hello, all!

I am going to be moving in a week, and will end up 15 minutes from the Malden Mills store in MA. So I figure that's a sign from God that I need to make fleece pants this winter!

I have spent hours looking at pattern books but can't find what I am looking for--can anyone help?

I'd like to sew fleece pants that are more of a Baby Gap style than the "my mom made this" look. Big enough butt for a trim fitted diaper, but I want a slight flare or boot-cut and a bit of a slit at the ankle. I'm not going for my-six-month-old-is-a-ho, but I would like a more modern style than the Simplicity patterns that I swear haven't been changed in ten years.

Is there a pattern company that is going for the high-end casual kid market? Or should I just spend the $$ on a pair of BG or Gymbo pants and take them apart? I hate to do that if I don't have to. I'm going to have a baby in size 9 mos and probably 12 mos before the cold season is over.

Thanks so much!

When you find this please lmk Ive just been using the Kwik sew for babies pattern but then flaring the leg a bit. I traced a pair of Old Navy pants I love for the flare. Its kinda hit and miss for me but im not the best sewer (yet!!)

I "made" the pattern by looking at a pant pattern picture and using DD's pant measurements.
It was A LOT easier than it sounds.

Izzybee those are very cute! How did you do the top and bottom details? Did you just snip with scissors and thread ribbon through?

I used a Burda pattern for some fleece pants and I hate them. They came out so huge with their sizing that they are even puffy on my 2.5 y.o. dd but just too short. They were the 9 month size. I think I am also going to wing it.

vkberes - I used a decorative stitch. It was so easy!
I bought a burda pattern, but I accidentally got one that was for sizes 7-14, and I didn't wanna have to go out again, so I made one up.

Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not the only one looking for pants! And I agree, the best option may just be jumping in and making my own pattern.

I found these pants:

(I hope that pastes right)

and will probably buy them to stretch out and make a pattern. They're the flare look I want.

Thanks again!
