swift kick in the rear

My mother died this past Christmas and I'm still dealing with all the stages of grief. My aunt's mother just died and she,a woman of 65, is having a hard time of it. I was having a hard time listening to it as all I could think of was "Your mom was in her mid 80's for Pete's sake!! You had her for 30 years more than I had mine!!" OH..the SELF-PITY!!!!!!! (meaning me)

Then....I found out our neighbor's daughter is dying of cancer. Her children (neighbor's grandchildren) are ages 7 and 10. So much for self pity..yeah, I lost my mom when I was 35..they're losing their mom at age 7!!!!! The same age as my children ..it makes my stomach hurt.

I'm so sorry about your mother. I lost my dad a year and half ago at age 33 and it stinks! We're not supposed to loose a parent when we're so young!

Please remember that greif is a very individual thing. You are entitled to your greif and all the feelings that go with it. Just as others are entitled to theirs. I agree that loosing a mother at age 7 is horrible, but that dosn't minimize your greif.

I wish you peace as you move through this.
