Anyone know about Acrylic yarns being carcinogenic? - Page 2

Hilarious Mamid! My DP is always ranting about my "demon crafts" that take over everything if I am not careful. I suppose it comes with the territory of loving to create! Sorry I was off the subject...
I greatly dislike working with acrylics and really don't have a lot of money to spend on expensive yarns, but I have had wonderful luck with e-bay. Great deals on nice yarns, so maybe try there for alpaca, etc.

Yaaay Mamid's LYS. I know you said in another thread that you limit yourself to what you can buy locally which is admirable. If you do find that you can use it, though, and happen to be on Saltspring, there is a shop there that sells tons of alpaca fiber.
Now, has your DH ever seen an alpaca? How could they be the work of the devil? they are so cuddly! I know, I know. All I am saying is that he needs 10 silky-soft lashes with that skien for his heresey.

Not to hijack this thread, but I have some hemp/wool if you'd like to trade.. If not..I apologize...

I personally, like my acrylic...yes, I love the wools too, but for most items I still use acrylic. It's washable, holds up well..etc. So that's just my 2 cents...

Hugs,
