In a group of pregnant moms, the topic of circumcision came up. According to the poll, so far we have 8 yesses and 4 nos. Of course I had to give some information (in a very nice way of course) but it really just makes my heart hurt so much. Even one woman who is planning a homebirth is still going to circ! So much for a gentle start to life.
I just want there to be one place where I can just be a pregnant mom and not an intactivist. I don't want to have to bleed inside for these poor babies that I cannot protect. I don't want to have to think about this subject anymore. It's just so completely insane that it's normal in our culture to cut part of a baby's penis off. Why can't people see it for what it is? How can they think this is normal behavior? I'm so frustrated that I just want to scream and cry.
