I am atempting to knit myself a pair of felted slippers, I got one done already and its huge , but I forgot to do a test felting guage before hand. Is there a ratio that fishermans wool usually shrinks? And is there a point where it will stop shrinking?
I used a 7.0 mm circ
on already dyed fishermans wool

I have personally had issues with fishermans felting properly, but it DID felt, just not so much as I would have liked (my fave yarn for felting is Brown Sheep Co. Lambs Pride)
Maybe make a swatch quickly and toss in the wash before you do another moc?

BTW..where in WI are you? I'm in Madison

my slippers
I think they took about 6 hours total, but not sure I had to start and stop alot.
I did not use a pattern just the one in my head for the socks i make.
I'm on a socks roll. lol prior to these i just finished dh a pair of wool crew socks.
I love knitting socks!
I cant wait to see how these shrink. I might give them to mu mom to shrink lol shes a pro at shrinking my wool .lol lol lol
If they dont fit my size 8's hopefully they'll fit dh's 13's
oops forgot to add...we are in Sheboygan

Have you ever heard of Bahr Creek? It's just outside of Cedar Grove. They have tons of wool. I am guessing that you probably have though. Sounds you are a great knitter! I live in Hingham btw. I'd love to see your slippers sometime!
