i realize the point of this rule is to make sure people are contributing fairly to the MDC community but i guess i don't see how somone who has 2500 non-TP posts can be considered not contributing, even if she has an additional 1200 to the TP? i'm in a lower number category so it's not the same for me but how can someone liek jeca ever expect to make up that number of posts? i cannot belive she wouldn't be considered a fairly contributing member.

and sadly no, now i don't feel i belong here.

natesmommy126 you have a total post count of 847. 513 of those posts were made to the TP.

When I used the search feature and selected just the tp forum, I only come up with 209. I don't think 513 could possibly be right.

I do understand. But alot of "posts" are simply bumps, I mean we don't have that much stuff to put on the Tp, LOL. It justs seems wrong that "bumping out actual posts should count against us as if we're trying to take advantage of the community.

Natesmommy126, go to the advanced search window and type in your screen name, then scroll down the list of forums and highlight Trading Post. It says you have 209 posts in that forum...

I was just looking at my numbers (just out of curiosity; I haven't posted in the TP in months). The feedback forum is included, right? So maybe a good rule of thumb is to beware about replies to other people's posts in the TP and don't leave feedback if your numbers are close to the cut-off percentage.

yeah, that's what I was seeing-209, not 513. That will not be nice if we can't leave feedback without getting punished.

cynthia, i didn't use your name. you are not the only mod who PM'd me about this so you are assuming it's you. i was simply trying to explain to the members posting who aske why this might be...i was saying it was explianed to me that these are the rules and i f i don't agree this isn't the place for me. and you're right.

i wasn't insinuating you edited my post count as if you were evil! you misunderstand...i think a lot of that has been going on here and it's probably because that's the nature of the beast online. i simply meant that i too never knew what my TP to other board post ratio was and now it seems to have been "fixed" - repaired. i always thought TP posts didn't actually get tallied in that number under your name (i used to be confused about this when i would post to the TP and not see my number change and then i realized since it was a TP pot this was probably why). so i assumed i had 292 non-TP posts but from what you've told me since, it seems i only have 150 or so non-TP posts and now my number correctly reflects that. i wasn't insinuating anything - my "number" (under my name) HAS been changed and i'm assuming this is why. no evil implied here, i swear!

I understand the point jeca. Do you have a solution to suggest? I can't place the sifting job on the moderator. It's too much to ask. But I'm open to suggestions.

well, I'm don't exactly understand how your system works so it woudl be hard to make a suggestion. what exactly does the 'sifting" entitle. Maybe a simple subforum or announcemnt of those in the daner zone?

i'm blocked too! wow. kinda freaky. i have pm'd a mod but haven't heard anything. cynthia, can you give me my post count. i nver really thought i posted *a lot* on the tp.

it would be nice if there were an easier way to see your post/tp ratio. it really stinks that you can't see your tp posts when you are blocked. dang, that's when you need to see it.
