Which veggies should I plant?

I have a small patch ready to go, set aside for a veggie garden. I live in a coastal foggy area with sandy soil. The site is full sun, but the days are usually foggy. Any suggestions on what would do well here?

Hmmmm, coastal foggy--coastal California or coastal Washington? This could make all the difference.

Not knowing for sure where you live, or what your winters are like (which is coming sooner or later)...I live in Oregon and if you were in Coastal Oregon or Washington I would say it is time to plan the winter garden, look at brassicas (cabbages, kale, brussels sprouts), chard, spinach, some Asian greens like tat soi and pac choi, overwintering onions, plant garlic in October so you can harvest it next summer, chicory, winter lettuces, think about building a cold frame or two or perhaps floating row covers...your temperatures might not get so low, but wind might do just as much damage to some plants.

If you live in Coastal California--well I just don't know! Maybe someone else knows about this! Good luck and have fun.
