:LOL

"canwedoschoolnowcanwedoschoolnowcanwedoschoolnow? "

I tell you that's all I heard today :LOL

Today we cut models of bacteria, viruses, white blood cells and antibodies out of construction paper and attacked and defended (over and over and over again) a drawing I made of a person's face. Apparently, this was a huge hit and I am just too cool, :LOL

Now what do I do tomorrow??? I need some more crafty, fun ideas for K/1st grade if anyone has any! If we could stay on the immune system that would be nice. She specifically asked to learn about it.

My dd is determined to do sit down "real school" but I am determined to make it *fun* for ***both*** of us. I have to admit, today was fun (ok, when she and her brother weren't whining and fighting! - I think they're both coming down with something and there were times I wanted to run far, far away )

So does anyone have any links for fun homeschooling ideas? Crafty ideas, not just worksheets to print out?

I would go into different body parts and how they help you stay healthy.

The senses how they protect us.

Skin-- anatomy http://search.enchantedlearning.com/...earch?key=skin How hair keeps bad particles (dust and germs) out of our eyes, ears, lungs, et. How it keeps us cool and warm.

Circulatory.

I will post more tomorrow but I do know there are several simple projects to do for senses.

I love these kinds of threads!

What a great project - think I'll steal it .

We have been talking a little about the five senses to get ready for a one day class at the museum of health sciences and medical history, so I found some fun projects. Here is one we are going to do today:

Fill pairs of empty balloons with various materials (popcorn, flour, dry lima beans, shaving cream...) then try to match them by feel.

We also did a matching game with pairs of like scented votive candles all wrapped in dark blue tissue (to hide the color).

We watched "Osmosis Jones" last weekend, and even thought it's a "fluffy" (and somewhat gross) kid's movie, it was all about germs too.

Could you put out foods of varying health levels and connect healthy eating to healthy immune system? That might be fun since you'll both get to eat!
