Hello all. I am not new to Mothering -site or magazine- but I am seriously thinking about becoming vegan. I was raised on "the 4 food groups" and "typical American diet"- maceroni and cheese, hot dogs, hamburgers, with veggies thrown in. We weren't total carnivors, don't get me wrong.
Anyway, my point is that I have been just SOOO tired the last month or so and I'm thinking it has to do with eating meat and meat products. Just this past weekend I got fresh veggies and fruits and some tofu and while I still got milk and chocolate powder (tastes good lately- must be the nursing?!?!), I immediately felt better! I have asthma too so I know I should cut out fhe milk and other foods but I just need some support and advice. I'm the one who's going to have to do this. My dh would grill hamburgers and chicken ever night no problem- in fact he just bought a HUGE package of hamburger the other day
: ) Not only that, but I have digestion issues and will get stomach aches from cheese, milk, and meats. Sometimes its a matter of the occasional "ouch" throughout the following day, and sometimes its downright HORRIBLE pain. I'm talking worse than natural childbirth (which I had with my last and which wasn't bad at all actually).
Anyway, that's that for a start. And just so you know I don't make a lot of money (see my post in that thread here).
