He calls us "mama" and "papa"

I still call my dad "pa" LOL

We are "Baba and Mama".

In dh's language, it is ababa and imama, so I guess he finally picked it up.

Our boys alternate between mom (or rarely mommy) and dad (daddy) and our first names. For our oldest it's now almost exclusively first names. I and my siblings ALWAYS called our parents by their first names, NEVER "mom" and "dad" or anything similar, and still do, so our kids are used to hearing us do that, and they know it's ok with us if they do that with us too. So they seem to be heading to that choice.

I'm Mum to all 5. THe middle one had speech problems and called me Mumby as a little one, and now sometimes even my oldest will. (she says it's cute!) They all call DH Dad.

I hate it when kids call their parents by their first names! I think it sounds disrespectful. I love being their mother and want it acknowledged. My best friends called thier parents by their first names and they are totally disrespectful of them now. (16) I'm aware that it's more than just what they called their parents that allwed them to be like that, but the name thing really bugs me!

my 3 year old calls me "mommy" and my husband "daddy".


my 11.5 yr old calls me "mom" and stopped calling me "mommy" at age 8

he calls his father "dad".

and he calls my husband (his step-father) --"JEFFY", or "Jeff" which his name is Jeff.

8yo calls me Mom, 4yo calls me Mommy, They both call DH Daddy.

I call my mother Mom and still call my father Daddy

I always called my paernts by their first names. Only to get their attention--otherwise they do not listen :LOL A bunch of people are Mom, apparentely my mom cannot distinguish which one she is!

DS calls us Mama and Baba or Papa.
