i need allergy relief, like yesterday!

i am still nursing my 18 ds. i am having the worst allergy attack in history. (runny nose, scratchy throat, swollen glands, cough, itchy watery eyes). i am so miserable that i broke down and bought some claritin tonight. but haven't taken it yet. the pharmacist told me i had to talk to a doctor but (S)he would probably recomend claritin. so i bought and thought i'd do the research beofre i took it. just wanted to save a step.

i can nurse my ds son to sleep then not nurse him during the night. we are doing this to some degree anyway because i am beginnig the weaning process.

any suggestions. what i did find is that loratadine, which is what claritin is, (in a study) does pass into the breast milk but no side effects or reactions were found.

i cna't believe i am even considering this because we are very homeopathic. they only medicine we have is children's tylonol becuase ds is susepticle to spiking high fevers. other than that, i just ususally wait it out for myself.

i need relief in the worst way!

I've actually had pretty good results from Hyland's "Hayfever" formula--I keep a couple bottles around all the time.
