Are you telling people your due date?

Im thinking this time around Id like to give people a date that is 3-4wks later than my actual edd.

Im hoping it cuts back on the everyday phone/calls and drop-in visits during the last weeks where people ask "have you had that baby yet?" "wheres that baby?" "no baby!?" and watch you like a hawk lest you try and slip away to give birth in peace.
Ah, silly family

I'm mostly saying "early June."

I didnt have that problem last time -- even though I felt that way myself since Maxi was a week overdue. I am telling people - I guess I figure even if people were like that at the end it probably wouldnt bother me. I remember so many people calling after I had the baby and I wasnt really interested in talking to anyone so I just had DH answer the phone. After a few weeks I called people back.

If it bugs you I would tell them "dont call us, we will call you when we have news"

After having ds 15 days late I was pretty sure I would add a couple weeks to my due date next time. I'll probably give a date but try and be more vague mid - late June. I'm already thinking July I thought it was hard last time to keep telling people no baby yet.

Hmmm, hadn't thought about that. Sounds like a good idea though, if people really bugged you last time about 'still' being pregnant!

I didn't have that problem last time- Ethan was officially 3 weeks early, although due to screwy cycles, he was anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks early, it was hard to tell.

This time I have no idea what to expect- I am supposedly due June 4-6 but am expecting a May baby just from my last experience! I really would like a June baby though since both mine and my mom's birthday's are in June right together, and our anniv. is June 4th!

we're just saying "june". a couple people have asked and i have said (truthfully) that the dr/midwife hasn't said yet.

Just wanted to check to see if you are prepared for the next statement that will come out of everyone's mouths: Not until July? You are huge! My you are really big!

I do like your idea, but will probably tell people the 6th. DD1 was 11 days late so I got used to the: are you still pregnant comments. Never was brave enough to tell them I had the baby a month ago and watch the expressions on their face as they looked at my impressively big belly.

:LOL What a great comment!! I'm sure I'd never be brave enough to say that but I'm sure you'd get some good looks.

Now or When I Finally Do Tell of Our Pregnancy?

Just kidding! We have told very few people that we are pregnant due to our concerns about this pregnancy and people really aren't as nice after the 2nd baby or so it seems to us. My parents are actually the worst to deal with as my father has said several times that we should be done now....funny since he doesn't pay our bills! Sorry - just a little vent.

When we do tell everyone it will be June or early June as we are guessing my due date to be 6/5 - 6/12 at this time. All of my children have been a little early so I don't worry so much about going past my due date. I have had several clients that have changed the message on their machine to say something similar to "no, we have not had the baby yet, but will call and let you know when we do." Then they just don't answer the phone, but let the machine pick it up instead.

This is a good idea. I tried the "November" answer last time and my mom flipped out. "BUT WHEN?!?!" Man, you'd think she would be one to get that EDD's are just estimates since her only birthchild was 2 weeks "overdue". Oh well.
Hmmm... I may start saying June 15th. That is 10 days after u/s edd and 17 days after lmp edd, so I think that is a good date. :LOL
