The frustrated scream

When trying to do stuff that is beyond her capapbility DD lets out this horrific scream. I'm sure you now the one. I go and help her do the task, show her how to do it but often it is somehting that she just can not do...like putting her clothes on a doll that is way too small.
After a few tries with me helping if DD can not get the task right she will just keep screaming...
Now, is it wrong for me to take the toy or whatever away? The past 2 days this screaming is really making me nuts and I found myself saying, "This is much too frustratiing for you so we'll put it away for now"
I feel like I am hindering the learning process...but what else an I do? The clothes will not go on the little plastic cow!

I can totally sympathize. I know exactly what you mean. Ds does the same thing with his toys.

When it's beyond his capabilities and he won't accept our help, we do put the object of frustration up. I don't know if it's right. I'd love to see more advice.

I am in the same boat, lol, and I do the same, I try to help my kids help themselves but if a fit breaks loose I think that redirection is an okay thing to do. I think that teaches, try try again, then if it frustrates you, take a break with something else and maybe try again later. I'm sure that is a valuable lesson to learn I'm open too to hear more replies about this, I can't stand that blood curdling scream!
