Have you all told your families yet, or are you waiting a bit?

We haven't told anyone yet...I have just told my online groups so I have someone to chat about it with

We didn't tell anyone till 11-12 weeks last time...probably will do the same this time...it's nice to have this special knowledge just between us for a while. And I just want to wait and see. My first appt. is around 10 weeks, so maybe after that I'll feel more comfortable talking about it with people- I don't think anyone will be surprised though- people are constantly asking us when we are going to have #2!

We told our families already, and we've told a few friends too. Once we decided to tell FIL, we knew the whole world would know because he cannot keep a secret. I guess I feel that unless there is some reason to be worried, I'm not going to worry. I may regret this later, but right now everything is good and I'm happy that people know.

yup! everyone knew we were doing fertility treatments, so of course, we got asked all the time. it was either tell people or lie. we're awful liars, so everyone knows now.

No one knows yet but dh and I (and all of you). I'm waiting to tell my parents in person when we visit with them in a couple weeks. It's driving me crazy, though, because I want to shout it to everyone I'm so excited about it!! :

I know I SHOULD have waited, just in case...but.... we told just about everyone the day I got my bfp :LOL We've been trying so long and we were so happy, I was BURSTING. Plus, since Monday was my birthday, I was going to see most of our family that day, and I knew I couldn't keep it a secret :

Like someone else said, so far, so good. I'm not worrying until I have something to worry about, if I ever do.

We Have Told a Few

A few friends know, but other than that, no. I have to admit to being a little concerned after our m/c, but more than that it is the fact that I don't anticipate a bunch of excitement over a 4th baby when ds is still only 8 months old. My parents think we are crazy anyways. I am going to hold off until it is obvious which I don't imagine will be too long from now!

So far other than DH - everyone on the three web communities I visit know and 3 of my closest girl friends. I am telling my parents this weekend over the phone (they are far away) and will leave it up to DH when he wants to tell his family.

Other than that I am having a friend create a computer graphic with a picture of Maxi that says "Guess What" then the screen changes and it says "I am going to be a big brother!" which I will send to everyone else probably about 8 weeks or so.

I've only told 1 friend. My mom is coming to visit in two weeks, so we will tell our immediate family at the same time. We'll tell everyone else sometime after the first trimester is over. Last time I didn't tell most people at work until after my 20 week ultrasound. That is right about the time I started showing. I'm sure I'll have to tell sooner this time

I've been telling people little by little. Since the latest time I was pg I miscarried very early I thought I might be more cautious but I am actually taking the opposite approach and telling everyone who I think will be happy for me

Haven't told my mom yet -- she is in rehab after knee replacement surgery and still vey grouchy.

We've told our parents and a couple of friends. Of course, neither of our moms can keep a secret, so it's trickling out. At least this time youngest is almost 2. Last time, our ds was only 10 months and we got a lot of "Oh... already? Was it an accident?" Yes, from our families... including my own mother. You'd think I'd learn to just shut up and keep it to myself the way my mom is about things, but I am just too excited.

DH and all of you know and so far that it is. Almost spilled the beans at work yesterday during a conversation about bf. This almost came out of my mouth: made it a year with E. This time we'll probably go longer. Ooops!!!! Fortuantely I had enough time to bite my tongue.
I've been seeing my parents off and on over the past few weeks and it has been hard not to say anything. My little sister is due with her first in February so I don't want to take anything away with that. She hints everyone once in a while that her baby is lonely and wants a playmate. I just laugh and point at the oldest sister.
We're holding off until November. It will make time go by faster for the rest of them. DH and I enjoy laughing about our little joke.
Last July, DH's sister held off until over 20 weeks. I was looking at her one day and commented to DH that she must have fallen off her Atkins diet as her shorts were looking kind of tight. She announced the next week that they were due in October. I think they held off because they had only been married for a short time, but they were also worried about her health (type 1 diabetic and older than 30). All turned out well.

Ive only told a few on-line friends, although I think some IRL friends know from reading this board. Ive had some big smiles and twinkling eyes But I just have this feeling that I would like to keep this to myself for now.

We've told our families. I think we're going to wait to tell friends until around 10 weeks, and we probably won't tell dh's co-workers until we're well into the second trimester.

We've told a few very close friends and of course I've been posting here but that's it for now. We want to wait until around 10 - 12 weeks before telling our families. We have been having a hard time financially lately and quite honestly I just don't want to hear the comments that MIL is sure to make *sigh*

Ha ha. I keep doing almost the same thing! I was talking about car seats and cars that fit them with my friend and I almost said "I don't know how we'll fit the 2nd car seat" but I stopped myself mid-sentence.

Well I just got my BFP yesterday so I haven't had much time to tell people. My best friend called last night and he knew we were ttc and he asked and I couldn't lie. I will tell my mom and great grandmother this afternoon. I'll tell the rest of my family in a couple of weeks I guess. DF is thinking we'll tell his family on Thanksgiving.

The people we're waiting to tell are the people we don't know if they'll be happy for us. We're 22 and DF is still in college, so his parents might be kinda upset. But we know everyone will get over it.

I've only told two people IRL. I told my younger sister and my best friend. I wasn't really planning to but in a way I was.
I'm having an u/s on the 3rd of Nov to rule out another blighted ovum so I think what I'll do is (God willing!) take the sono photo and email it to immediate family. Then after my first midwife appt I'll probably spread the word.
At my sister's wedding prior to, we met with some cousins from out of town. One of them is expecting in March, almost the same date I was due. I thought it was so coincidental that I just told them about what happened(I didn't know she was pregnant until that day). I probably shouldn't have because they felt very badly, but it just came out. The whole situation stunk but I was nowhere near devastated like I would have been if we were talking a m/c with a baby. It was a big deal but it wasn't if that makes any sense. So I will let them know; I think they'll like that.

The original plan was November.
DH and I were laughing about telling my family next week. I could stuff some of my maternity clothes and when asked about what my costume is I could say: I'm pg. Really! I am!
