We co-slept until we moved in our apartment in July. My husband had a bunk bed his parents got him years ago so we put the little beds (NOT bunked) in the kids' bedroom with a little aisle between them. A couple days ago Miss A said "I wish you and Daddy would take our room so Mr. Man and I could sleep in the same bed." So we said if you want one bed, you can have one bed and pushed the two beds together. Both Miss A and Mr. Man were so excited to have a big bed together. They ran around the apartment going "Woohoo! Woohoo! We get to sleep together! Woohoo!"
As I was watching the excitement in my children I was struck by how many kids never get to have the excitement of sleeping cuddled up in the same bed as their sibling let alone sleeping in the same room as their sibling. Many people in my church move away when they have a second child into a three bedroom apartment or house. It's like they just can't let their kids share a room. I'm glad my kids get to have the same bedroom/bed sharing cuddled up cozy telling each other stories experience I had as a child.

and the baby (3yo) still sleep with us most of the time. They have chosen the queen sized bed in the playroom to sleep together over the gorgous
mission style bunk beds my husband hand made them. I agree that it is sooo cool to see them share space and sleep together. I think it is important to learn how to share space on that primitive level. Americans in general seem to think that each person in the family needs 700 square feet to themselves.
