Funic presentation?

I am so upset. Had DD via C section due to transverse positioning and then got green light for VBAC.

At 19 week u/s found low lying placenta and at follow up today at 25 weeks I was told that I have a "funic presentation" or in other words the cord is between the baby and the cervix and there is a high likelihood of cord prolapse with vaginal delivery and even the possibility of cord compression by the baby before that.

I am scared of the baby needing to be delivered early because of cord compression and lack of oxygen, of being admitted to the hospital and away from DD and I so didn't want another C section.

Have to go back in 3 weeks for follow up and if it is still like that I will need NSTs and biophysicals to make sure cord is not being compressed.

ANyone with a similar experience?

(Oh and I was so bummed because I had just asked a colleague who was a midwife in another country to be my doula and she said yes)

well, the nice thing is that the cord can easily move. in fact, it may just do that as baby descends lower into your pelvis.

I wouldn't rule out your VBAC just yet. Not at all!
