I finished my 1st longies too! Come see!

Wahoo! All done with my first HSY longies! Actually I finished a couple days ago but they took forever to dry after I washed them... Here they are:

Longies!

I think I will make the rise a little taller next time around and am also considering knitting some elastic into the next waistband. Any thoughts/advice on that? It will have to be for that 3rd pair though because I have already started the 2nd as you can see form the photos.

Thanks to all the great Mamas here who helped me out!

Beautiful. The rise isn't too short on the longies, it is too long on the diaper! I like your next project too!

Those turned out great. I really like the color and the next ones are very cute. It's addicting isn't it?

Those are really cute, as is your ds! Love the jack-o-lantern too.

Nice work, mama! If you are up to short rows, you might try some of those, as opposed to lengthening the front and back.

Seriously? Because you know I am always looking for a good excuse to go by more dipes! :LOL

Knitting is definitely addicting! I am already plotting 2 or 3 more pairs. The yarn I used was Cascade 220 Quatro. It's 4 ply with each strand a different color, so the end result looks sort of heathered or mottled, very nice. The color seems ocean-y to me so I think I may embroider a couple of goldfish on it.

Cass - I am intrigued by the short rows you mentioned. can you tell me more or point me in the right direction? TIA!

short row video can be found at www.knittingatnoon.com
I like to put all mine down low, just before I finish the body of the garment. Makes a cute little "butt pocket" that way.

Cass, I have 2 more questions if you don't mind. I saw the short row video (thanks for the link) but can this be done while working in the round? What do you do about purling back?

Yes, you just purl back, wrap and turn. And, no, I don't mind.

What yarn did you use?

It's Cascade 220 Quatro, color #9434. I added some close-up pics of it to the original link above.

You can always sew that knit in elastic stuff in afterwards too... in the back of hte waistband. I have not done this, but I have heard it is true.
