which type of wool is best?

I'm very much a beginner knitter, but I'm taking on the LTK ribby knit pattern and I'm very excited. I know that I can buy yarn (and beautiful yarn at that) on the LTK website, 2 ply for the project at hand, but I was wondering (since I can't seem to find that info on the site) what type of wool that the LTK handpainted yarn is made from? And what type is best to use on soakers and longies? There's some beautiful Peace Fleece and they way it's something like 30% mohair and 70% wool...but is this virgin wool? Corriedale? Thick? Coarse? Without having a good knowledge base, all the yarns look the same except for their color. If I go to a knitting store in my neighborhood, then what kinds of wool should I be looking for if I'm shopping for soaker/longie wool?

Thank you for your help!

I'm using the LTK 2-ply yarn for my Ribby, and have also used it for the felted mocs and booties.
I *think* the handpainted is made from skeins of the regular LTK yarns.
I asked Theresa yesterday about the Peace Fleece, and she said it would work great for all her patterns except the regular soaker, in the worsted weight.
If you want it for the regular soaker, she says go with the DK.
You can always email Theresa directly or ask any questions you may have on her support forums here:
