Hi All,

Does anyone make Waldorf Dolls? I'm curious about them. And am looking at making some for my dd's (yeah, like I *need* another Christmas project)...I'd love to chat..

Hi tammy,I've made several over the years. Also lots of little gnomes and things for the nature table.www.waldorfshop.net has several stores rhat carry doll making supplies.www.magiccabin.com has kits as does www.littlejoys.com

I've also made quite a few for dd and its a lot of fun. I suggest getting a pattern/kit from the sites listed already and www.weirdolls.com to start out with. The hardest thing for me is making the wig. A lot of the places sell pre-made wigs as well. Have fun!

I'm thinking of buying a kit (as many suggested), that way I'll have the supplies all given to me.. Is one kit better than another? I'm also looking at the knitted body kit from http://www.weirdolls.com LMK what you all think.

Can you use Wool Roving rather than Wool BAtt? I'm also tempted to use Polyfil (as that's what I've got)....

Polyfils fine.Wool is used because it retains warmth making it more huggable. As to one kit being better than another it really depends on your skills. The dolls are a wonderfully basic cloth bodied doll ,Wigging them however can be a pain :
The first doll i ever made I drafted the pattern from a drawing,a little like reinventing the wheel .Joy's waldorf dolls has lovely patterns and joy herself is an angel to talk with .The best I could tell you is to relax ,pick a kit ,and have fun
