My cat died

Hello. For those of you that read my story over in "Health and Healing", my cat passed on early this morning. It was just the way I'd hoped....peaceful and in my home.

For those that didn't read my story.... My cat of 10+ years wouldn't eat or drink 2wks ago and we didn't know why. This past Monday, the vet found tumors in her abdominal region by xray. The vet wanted to do exploratory surgery but I finally decided to just take my cat home to die. I even had pain pills rxed just in case she need them.

I'd been giving her milk, cat vitamin gel, tuna, etc to her w/ an eyedropper. Yesterday she absolutely refused to let me feed her and even tried to bite me. All afternoon she moved around the kitchen floor. When I went to bed, she decided to lay in front of my fridge. I checked on her every time that I got up last night. The last I checked was 5am. When I woked up at 8am, she was dead. So my mother came over and took her to the vet's because we're having her cremated just like our other cat was.

I'm actually doing quite well. Our first cat was euthanised (sp?) and it was such a traumatic experience for me. That was 4yrs ago. This cat's death is much easier for me because I was prepared and it happened here. Who wouldn't wanna go surrounded w/ love, ya know?

Thanks for listening

Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is a very hard thing to do, even when you're prepared.

I am really sorry for the death of your pet. My beloved cat Horsie died a year ago tomorrow, and I cannot believe how traumatic it was for me. And how hard it is, and how so many people look at you like- 'its just a cat!!'
I hope everyone is far more sensitive to you IRL. I'm really sorry.
I went to www.lightning-strike.com
They had a lot of info on pet grieving, you can talk to people who have been through the same thing, and there are a lot of articles I found helpful.

Please take care and again, I am really sorry

Your kitty now plays with the Angels.

When pets pass they go to the Rainbow Bridge

Quote:
"Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

i am truly so for you loss, nothing hurts like losing a loved one.

we had our dear "blue" cremated, so that he is still with us, until we scatter his ashes around a tree we will plant for our dd first birthday. i know he would love that idea.

my thoughts are with you at this sad time.
