The nausea hit today.

I was fine most of the time until the middle of last night, then today. I don't remember what I ate through my last pregnancies, but I remember snacking almost constantly to keep nausea at bay. ONly this time, nothing is appetizing and I am busy with 2 BUSY little boys and don't think of snacking.
I guess I'm mostly just whining, but if you have good ideas for light, simple, snacks that I can keep on hand that would be nice. I have thought of things like carrot sticks, but cold and crunchy are a bad combo on my sensitive teeth. I'm hoping for something low fat and low calorie so i don't gain 100 lbs. I tend to gain a lot as it is, no need to add to that. Thanks.

Do you have a Trader Joe's nearby? I went today and stocked up on healthy snack-y things -- yogurt and fig bars and stuff like that. I like TJ's because they don't have trans fats and
things like that.

I gained 50 lbs. when pg with ds and don't intend to do that again. Then again, I ate a lot of carbs in those days and dont' eat much at all any more -- much more protein and fruits and veg.

Don't forget bananas!

Don't think so, never heard of Trader Joe's. But I gained 65lbs with ds#1, and was ALLLL belly, you couldn't tell from the back that i was pg until like 37weeks when the round sides stuck out. LOL Then with #2 I wasn't working or as in shape and gained 80ish lbs. But still, just looked pg. But I'm not at all in shape now and I'm so tired and now, nauseous... plus i have two "helpers" everytime I try to work out or do a yoga video. And NO WAY am I giving up my naptime, when I get it, to work out. Sorry.
Bananas would be good, if the texture doesn't make me sick. Think I have some fig bars. too. Thanks.

I've actually heard protein is supposed to help with nausea. Maybe some lowfat cheese you could cut in cubes and then keep in a handy spot in the fridge, or a good protein shake.

Whole Foods is a godsend to me- do you have that near you?

flavored rice cakes, frozen fruit bars, string cheese, veggie lunchmeat or other lower fat lunch meat rolled up, mini bagels, healthy waffles, toast with different toppings- honey, cinnamon and sugar, nut butters, raisin toast with cream cheese, make a banana, zuccinni, or other type of loaf bread and cut it up or make it in muffins/mini loaves and add ground nuts for protein, flax seed, wheat germ, etc- this is what I count on b/c it is filling and quick- you do have to take the time to make it but then you have breakfast or snacks all week. Note these are all things little kids can eat too, since I only get to eat what my son is eating! YOu can't beat cut up fresh fruit, berries. pudding cups, jello with fruit cups, pretzels, granola, granola bars with lots of nuts. Just a few things I try to keep around- and then 1/2 the time none of it is appealing to me!

Thanks for all the ideas. Fig bars helped yesterday. And I also took iron and B6 as soon as I woke up and the nausea was SOOOO much better throughout yesterday. I'll have to add lots of these snacks to my shopping list. I get stuck in a rut a LOT with food. :LOL
