Last year I made ds a space man costume from really shiney silver fabric and we used a square box covered in tin foil for the helmet. It was cute.
This year I made him a fall leaf costume and then decided to go all out and make myself into a tree, lol!

Edited to add: I LOVE the Captain Hook costume! I've only made ds the space costume and also a doctor coat, but I really need to make him more "boy" dress-up clothes. All we have are dresses and stuff (my nieces play with them) and then of course DS wears those - not that it's a big deal, but sometimes DH kind of wishes we had some "boy" stuff for him, lol!
