My birth at Special Beginnings was the most positive experience of my life. I had some complications- water breaking 3 days before ctx with light meconium, but it was treated with...
My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...
This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...
This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...
Does anyone have any good recomendations for getting rid of cradle cap? Our doctor suggested Selson Blue but I really don't want to use that stuff on her tiny little head. n Any suggestions?
Brush it in circular motions while shampooing.
You can use Burt's Bees Apricot Baby Oil or Olive oil. Avoid regular baby oil b/c it has mineral oil in it.
DS had this as a baby. I shampooed him with regular baby shampoo and used a very soft brush while doing so to loosen the scales and get rid of them. A mushroom brush should be soft enough.
The way we handled this was to use sandlewood essential oil diluted to a 2% Concentration in Jojoba carrier oil. We would massage dd's head and the cradle cap loosened and flaked off. The sandalwood is so calming as well, for everyone.
we used Olive oil and a flexible plastic fine toothed comb/ i rubbed it on the affected area, let it sit foir about 2-3 mins. then picked it off very carefully with a comb. then washed it immediately with a baby shampoo.
oil is what causes it, so it also removes it, but you then really wanna get it dry.

We never did anything. DD is 18 months now, and still has stuff on her scalp. But it doesn't seem to bother her. I figure it will come off on its own eventually. (Is this gross? I dunno, it doesn't bother me).
we are battling this now. well i should say were battling it. the best thing i have tried is absolutely no baby shampoo. before his bath i rub olive oil all over his head. i wait 5-10 minutes and then with a baby brush rub lightly in circular motions and then just rinse with a washcloth and water. thats it. i have done this two times and its gone. really you should try it. the first time i shampooed after and that just dried it even more. i guess if your baby has lots oh hair you would need to shampoo no matter what though.
I used vitamin e on d's head for this then I combed it out. I would use shampoo when I bathed her though because her hair was quite long. I had vitamin e liquid in a bottle that I used. It smelled kinda funny but it really seemed to work well.
I've tried everything I can think of. Cradle cap shampoo.. olive oil..jojoba oil.. borage oil.. it keeps coming back.
My MW told me to try an antifungal since it can be a fungus in older kids. I've used it for a few days after washing her hair with olive oil soap and a soft comb. I'll let you know. We also cut her hair off really short since it's so curly we can't get to her scalp otherwise. I bought lamasill. BTW< she's 27 months old and has always had it really bad.
If it is fungal based lemongrass essential oil will take care of it ASAP. Dilute the lemongrass to a consistency of 2% in jojoba oil and apply twice daily.
T lemongrass essential oil also is a sure cure for thrush too at the same dilution rate.
I finally decided to do something about ds's cradle cap a few weeks ago. He's 22 mos and had it since he was a babe. I used a calendulated oil (weleda makes a nice one) and warmed it slightly then massaged it in and left it overnight. In the morning I brushed/picked/scraped out the cradle cap. Ds was not thrilled with this and I only did as much as he would tolerate. I washed his hair with an all natural baby shampoo that has tea tree oil and lavendar oil in it. He still has some cradle cap left but I got most of it off. HTH
