I need help with a special shower gift..

Some friends of our have been trying to get pg for years..Lisa finally got pg the same time I did with DD but she miscarried..She has lived a hard life losing both her mom and sister at young ages..

They just got back from China with their new adopted daughter Bette who is 18 months old and sweet as can be!!

My MIL is having a shower for her 3 weeks from today and I want to make her something really special but honestly I don't have a lot of time...I thought about knitting an LTK easy peasy sweater but honestly I have 4 to make in the next month and I don't want to burn out..

I can sew if it's not too complicated, scrapbook and knit if it's not too complicated..

I'd love to do something that incorporates her heritage that might be a keepsake...

The only thing I've come up with so far is getting a baby doll and mkaing diapers, a diaper bag and some clothes for it..Thanks!

how about sewing an abc type sling for her :2toddler: , depending on the baby's background, she may even be familiar with it (the baby I mean) and if not, well without the 18 months to slowly build up her muscles, your friend is probably suffering with the weight of carrying this baby

I don't think they plan on slinging with her at all..I don't think they'd use it if I made it! I ended up buying some yarn from www.handpaintedyarn.com to make the easy peasy sweater..I'm sending those links to the Chinese dolls to some of my friends though..Too cute!!
