Bleeding 7 wks pp???

Hi all,
Anyone experience this? I had a easy UC with dd, and hubby and I resumed intercourse after one week. Now I'm afraid I did something really bad to my body . ...this is not just spotting either. Didn'y get cycles until ds was 2 years...Any suggestions/comments/advice please??

I expreianced this too. I'm not sure how many weeks it was, but seven or more sounds about right. It was after our UC too, though I know that had nothing to do with it, and my midwife did check me out the next day (long story!)
I bleed heavily a few days and continued spotting for quite some time! It stoped on it's own and everything was fine.

I'm not sure what brought it on (though my guess would be sex.) I'd love to hear someone else's thoughts on it.

I've heard that it's hormonal bleeding (but not menstrual)---don't know much more than that. I'm 6 wks PP now, and it seems to mw w/my other babies, I started bleeding more around this time. Maybe someone else will know more??? I don't think you did any harm......sounds normal to me, but if you're really concerned, you might post this on the mw/doula forum for more input!

With my last 2 kids AF returned at 6wks postpartum and every 2-3 weeks after that until they were 3months. With Asha after the AF at 3months I was pg with Nadia 2 weeks later. With Nadia after the AF at 3months it disappeared for 6months, came back for 3-4, disappeared for 4 and has been back monthly for 14months but isn't completely normal yet(stopped bf'ing 14months ago) and is getting lighter the last couple of cycles. I have gone from heavy day 1 with alot of perineal pain on day 1 and it lasting 7-8days to it being gone in 3-4days and light except the first 1 1/2days.

After AJ I quit pp spotting about 4 wks pp. I then got what I just knew was af (I was highly disappointed) at 5.5 wks pp. It stopped after a few days and I got it AGAIN at 7 wks pp. Nothing till I got af at 9 mos pp. I've read around 6 wks pp it's pretty normal that this happens. I read you should consider yourself fertile, but I don't believe it.

If you are ecologically BFing (no supplments, no artifical nipples of any kind, nursing around the clock) any bleeding for the first 56 days should not be considered a return of fertility. I did not BF my first two (who were given up for adoption) and I had consistent pp bleeding until right around or after my 6 weeks check. Honestly I do wonder if it would have to do with resuming sex so early. Your body does need a rest forget from sex but physical exertion of any kind. I view resumption of bleeding as my body sending me a signal that I need to take it easy. This time with DD my bleeding was gone after a week or two and did not come back until 20 months pp. Good luck.
