Anyone want to recommend one? My 4 y/o DS is curious about birth. We've talked about it a little, but I get the feeling he's still a bit confused. Please help.

I picked up "Welcom with Love" by Jenni Overend for dd. This book is specifically about a family's homebirth, from the point of view of the younger child, watching his youngest sibling being born. She really likes this book. See Amazon.com for a review/more info of it.

"Welcome with Love" is so wonderful! My son was 19 months when my second was born. He loved the book, as did my then 8-yo step-son. I loved seeing a mom "slow dancing" with her husband in labor, birthing upright, talking about how it's OK to make noise, how important walking during labor, tastefully done pictures on the actual birth, as well as co-sleeping, breastfeeding, etc. etc.....

It's a favorite!

Being Born

I LOVE the book "Being Born" by Sheila Kitzinger with Lennart Nilsson

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...858717-0244144

It is filled with Lennart Nilsson's amazing in utero photos and the story is by Sheila Kitzinger. It has a nice simple approach to how the baby got in there (easy to skim for younger children LOL) and photographs of a freshly fertilized egg and of embryos and fetuses at various stages of developement. It's BEAUTIFUL and the kids we've shared it with LOVE it. A couple of photos of birth and a lovely nursing ending.
