itchy head?

dd is 4yrs. I'm pretty sure it's not lice. She has baby fine hair and not a speck of anything. I changed shampoo about 2 weeks ago, so while not a high possiblility that's what I plan on changing. I would love other suggestion for possible causes and suggestions of a shampoo to stop the itching. I was thinking a tea tree shampoo.
TIA

I don't know that teatree shampoo would help, but it might. My 7-year-old son has an ongoing problem with itchy scalp, and the doc said to make sure to wash his hair every day (this is opposite from itchy skin elsewhere--too much soap and too many baths make it worse). Occasionally I will use dandruff shampoo, and that seems to help a bit.

Just to make sure it isn't head lice, look for little white things about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from her scalp. (And of course, look for moving bugs, yuk!) If you can't easily comb them out, those are nits.

Nix is the first line of treatment these days; don't even bother with Rid or the equivalents.

I would still check reeeeeeeeeeeel good for lice. There seems to be an epidemic going around right now. Take her in the sunlight to look, if she's fair haired lice eggs are really hard to detect, and the actual bug itself almost impossible to find. Funny enough, lice are discerning creatures and prefer squeaky clean hair.

If it's dandruff, itchy scalp, or lice, tea tree works beautifully. You can add a bottle of tea tree essential oil to any shampoo, wash daily if you're treating for lice.
If it is lice, you have to do a serious good entire house treatment. A huge PITA.
