Ok so I'm new here and just wondering about evening primrose oil. I have heard that it can help in effacement and dilatation. I was just wondering if any of you ladies have had any experience with it or just know about it. If you have any advice please feel free to say it all!!
Thank you in advance!!

My midwife recommended inserting EPR oil caps to help with induction. I believe it is similar to progesterone?

Ditto to what MsMoMpls said.

I took EPO capsules daily after 37 weeks by mouth and then the last 2 weeks inserted the capsule (ruptured with a pin prick) near my cervix each night after 38 weeks on the days/night that we were not having sex.

I read after the birth that EPO can cause heavier bleeding PP so I plan to do some reseach when we (hopefully) have a second child.

pish posh on heavier bleeding! I took epo 2 caps 3x day for the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy, and was using pantyliners for the scant flow 5 days pp.

I took EPO starting around 36 weeks. I don't remember exactly how much I was taking but it was the dose "guaranteed" to start labor according to the article my midwife gave me. I delivered at 40 weeks just as I did with my first two. It's possible that it helped things so I would probably try it again next time but it certainly did not 'induce' labor. I also did not have heavy bleeding.
