Oh, this is driving me crazy too! Random relatives that have never called me before are calling and leaving messages. Then I feel all obligated to call them back.
I think we need to change the message on our answering machine to say, "Hi! We're probably here, resting and not answering the phone. Please don't call back and wake Chelsea up just to ask if we've had the baby. You're welcome to leave a friendly message, which we may or may not return."
What really drives me crazy, though, is my co-workers. Every time I'm a couple minutes late in the morning (which is pretty much EVERY morning, lol) they go crazy when I walk in the door. "Oh, I thought FOR SURE we'd be getting a phone call that you were in the hospital!" Like they would be the first people I call! Argh.....
I could have kissed our waiter last night. As I stood up to put my coat on, he was just walking by and asked, "Oh! So when are you due, mama?" I replied, "A week and a half!" He said, "Not soon enough, right?" What a nice man! He didn't tell me that I'm huge, or that I look like I'm having twins, or that I must be about to pop--which everyone else AND their dog tells me every day.
Oh, and swelling? My feet look like eggplants. DH was rubbing them yesterday, and he said, "Ooh, they're really squishy!" Yuck!
