Diva cups aren't disposable.. They are good for like 10 years.. I suppose ULTIMATELY you might have to get rid of them, but the same is true for the sea sponges since the sponges do break down over time too.. I got my Diva Cup from Jacks Magic Beanstalk.. It was 30.00 I think.. And I don't have to buy tampons or anything for 10years.. So that's 3.00 a year.. Good enough for me!!!

Someone answered the 'how' down there but I thought I'd put in my word on flow. I have endo periods, and I go through a superplus tampon every 1-2 hours on the first day or two. My diva handled my heavy period beautifully!! No leaks! Once or twice I changed it and it was overflowing, and yet still had no leaks!
