Share with me the recipe for making your own baby wipes?

Also, is there any way to make vinegar smell better? I want to start using it for health reasons and because we need to cut costs around here but the smell makes me want to :Puke.

I saw the thread with recipes but I didn't see any mention of getting it to smell good.

One more thing, is Dr. Bronners( ithink that's the name) soap for house cleaning, personal hygiene or both.

TIA! I am new to all this and any help is appreciated.

My wipes solution:

2 c distilled water (distilled prevents the molding, etc.)
1/2 t. dr. bronner's peppermint hemp castille (any castille would work though)
1/2 t. olive oil (or almond oil)
2 drops lavendar oil
2 drops tea tree oil

Mix, and pour in a squirt bottle...spray on wipes as needed.

I know you can use the Dr. Bronner's for personal hygeine...but a little goes a long way! I can't remember if you can use it for household though.

Vinegar...I like the smell, so I don't have an answer for you on this one...

I use 1 cup water, 3 drops tto, about a tbs baking soda and a little squirt of baby shampoo, mix in a bottle and spray the wipes when I want to use them.

Have you thought of adding an EO to it? The thing with vinegar is that when it dries, there is no smell left. Also, I've found I have gotten used to it-I use it for everything.

my wipes recipe is a little less crunchy : but I do 2 cups water, 1 tbsp baby bath, 1 tbsp baby oil, and 2 drops of TTO. I pour that over half a paper towel roll and pull the paper towels out the center. You could also do the distilled water and spray it on cloth wipes though.

wipes recipe

I have cloth wipes in a Dex wipes warmer, and I add about 1½ C. water with a squirt of Dr. Bronner's Lavendar and a squirt of Burt's Bee's baby oil. I wipeout the warmer every couple of weeks, instead of using distilled.

For the vinegar, if you have rose bushes or any nice smelling flowers (or get dried), you can pour white vinegar over a giant jar of the flowers, let it sit for a week or more, then strain. It still smells like vinegar, but with a nice undertone of flowers. Nice as a hair rinse, too- makes it shiny.

You can use Br. B's for household- lots of recipes in the book Clean House, Clean Planet by Karen Logan.

Hey, we just use warm water, and we've never had a rash or anything here. I'm just sayin'.

My wipes "recipe:" water. That's it. I think the other stuff sounds nice, but I know I'd never actually get around to doing it. More power to those who do though! (but plain water works just fine)

I put 15-20 drops of essential oil in my vinegar spray bottles -it's very nice!

Re: Dr. Bronner's, some people use it for everything (and I do mean everything). You just have to find what works for you though!

I also don't use anything but plain water on my baby's wipes (which are actually just cheap washcloths).

What are you using the vinegar for? You might want to try different kinds of vinegar. White distilled vinegar does stink, so I only use it to rinse diapers, and just a cupful per load of wash. I use redwine vinegar on my hair, I like the way it smells.

Dr. Bronners: I use it 50% diluted for hand soap at all the sinks. The peppermint, diluted, is nice in the shower when I've got a cold.
In amonst all the tiny print on the bottles are LOTS of other uses, some of which I'm not sure about (tooth brushing? )

Water in an old wipes container with a couple drops of tea tree oil and lavender oil.
For the diaper bag, I have the Kissaluvs diaper lotion potion, but I think my son may be having a reaction to it...

For wipes I do something different almost every time. Always water, usually a squirt of some kind of soap, often a bit of some kind of oil. Sometimes some eo (tto or lav) as well. Lately it has been just a squirt of dr bronners lav. I often put in a bit of whatever I have on hand for massaging the baby with though.
I use plain water and haven't ever had a mold problem. I let it all sit in the wipes warmer and haven't even ever cleaned it out. It seems fine to me.

My ex-bf brushed his teeth with Dr. B's once. He foamed at the mouth and said it was nasty.
